8 Items you Need in Your Home Studio to Stay Creative

Cultivating a sanctuary to create in is one of the key ways to ensure that creativity stays at an all-time high. This looks a lot different for a lot of people, whether you are painting, writing, or photographing your day, but the basics are relatively similar. Below you can find a list of eight items and a quick reason why you should think about grabbing them for your own home studio to help you stay creative.

Tool Organizer

Keeping your thoughts organized is integral, and so is making sure your tools are as well. A pretty organizer can ensure your design philosophy is overseen throughout your entire space, and will be functional so you don’t lose your most trusted tools of the trade.

Bookshelf

Bookshelves can double as well, a bookshelf and an area to showcase some of your creations and tchotchkes. If I were you, I’d place some art toys on the shelves, art inspo books, or other inspirational texts with great visuals. Books with a prextty spine are encouraged!

Candle

Nothing helps you find your zen more than the decadent smell emanating from a candle. At first, I’d recommend going the single wick route as they tend to be smaller and cheaper. Once you learn what scents you like and from which brands, branching out into bigger sizes is the way to go.

Comfy Chair

Hopping into a comfy chair will not only boost your mood and productivity but will save you in the long run. Taking meaningful rests is key when you’re flowing through the creative process, and nothing is worse than sitting for long periods in an uncomfortable chair.

Lamp

Sometimes those late-night sessions run a bit later than expected, or you just need something pretty to place near your wall. Similar to the picture below, take time to find lamps suitable to your aesthetic and your work-related needs. If you are painting, you may want to try using natural light, but mood lighting will also help to enhance your space and offer more brightness for those evening painting sessions.

Standing Desk

Being comfortable throughout your entire creation process is vital, and a standing desk allows you to do so. At times, we might feel antsy or even achy while sitting down and creating all day. A standing desk lets you get up, stretch your legs and get moving a tad while still effortlessly creating art at your desk.

Pegboard

A pegboard can be great for organizational purposes and for hanging your small drawings or images for a mood board. I would use it for creating a mood board, including themes I would incorporate into my next pieces, colours that have been intriguing, and some words of affirmation.

Those were eight essentials that you need in your home studio to stay creative. Remember, the best space to stay creative in will be one that is designed by you with happiness and positivity in mind. If there are other items you find useful in your studio, let myself and other readers know in the comments below.
