Practice is the only way to learn

My laptop and I have been inseparable these last few weeks as I edit videos, create PDF’s and polish instructions for my new watercolor class that will be released early!!

Fingers crossed!

But today I needed some time at my desk to paint, play and take a break from all things tech.

So (this may be hypocritical but…) I grabbed my camera and recorded a time-lapse video showing you how I lettered a few things on watercolor backgrounds that I painted and let dry.

I use 5 x 7 cut sheets of watercolor paper, lay down some translucent backgrounds and grabbed my dip pen and a few fine paint brushes and let my mind wander as I mixed colors, lay brush strokes down and drew letters.

I hope this quick video inspires you to pick up some color, practice a little bit and learn along side me!

If you’re curious about the new watercolor class, check it out here. It’s on sale at the moment and won’t be available again until later this year.

Check out the time lapse below!

As usual, if you have any questions about the class, feel free to email me at nicki@lifeidesign.com
