Watercolor Sunflower Tutorial

Inside one of our Student Facebook Groups, we had a student request a watercolor sunflower tutorial as a way to release some of the feelings many of us are struggling with lately. I'm so glad we got this suggestion, as my art practice is something that I can share, and offer to you, as a small way to show some peace and love for our world at the moment.

It’s hard to put into words what we are all feeling as it’s heavy, hard to grasp, and completely unimaginable. I wanted to share this tutorial with as many of you as possible as this is a small way that I can provide a glimmer of hope and peace to you.

My hope for you is that you can use the tutorial as a way to find a few moments of joy, spreading peace and hoping that a small moment of art can help when the world is so uneasy at the moment

I don’t usually paint sunflowers so I also share some behind the scenes of how I prep and get myself ready for painting things that are not in my standard wheelhouse.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial and just know, I am sending you all so much love, positivity and strength today an everyday.
