How to Flatten Watercolor Paper after Painting (quick and easy!)

I had a really fun live painting session for my newest class Abstracts Made Simple and wanted to share with you a quick lesson that I created for the class!

We used our watercolor paints to paint some beautiful abstract pieces and because we use so much water in this process, you may notice your piece start to warp and bend when it dries! Here is my trick for flattening your watercolor paper after painting.

It’s easy to get frustrated by some of the little nuances that happen while watercolor painting. As much as you want every painting to come out perfectly, it’s okay if things fall apart or you add an extra splash of color when you didn’t mean to. It happens!

My best advice is to embrace every painting and learn to enjoy the process! Make mistakes, get messy and find your individual creative flair!
