Watercolor Art Retreat Italy 2026 with Nicki Traikos

Imagine this: The Tuscan sun warming your shoulders, wine glass in hand, watercolor brush in the other. The only thing on your to-do list? To slow down, breathe in the beauty around you, and finally give your creativity the attention it deserves.

The 2026 Watercolor Art Retreat in Tuscany Italy is now open for registration—and after early access went to our VIP and email list, spots are already being claimed. This is your invitation to experience a retreat designed to nourish your art, your heart, and your sense of self.

Led by artist and instructor Nicki Traikos, this isn’t just a painting workshop. It’s an immersive, all-inclusive retreat for women who crave beauty, inspiration, and time to create without distraction or pressure.

This retreat is for anyone craving more than just a vacation. It’s for creatives who want inspiration, growth, and meaningful connection—with like-minded people and with themselves.

Why a Watercolor Art Retreat?

Because it’s more than just about making art.

This is about coming home to yourself.

You’ll spend 8 days surrounded by rolling Tuscan hills, charming medieval towns, and a community of like-minded creatives. You’ll rest in a historic estate, be treated to chef-prepared meals, and explore one of the most picturesque regions of Italy—all while learning and growing in your watercolor practice.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, you’ll be guided and encouraged to discover your personal creative voice, all while being fully taken care of. This is a judgment-free, pressure-free, joy-filled experience designed to refill your creative cup.

And because creativity thrives when you're taken care of.

This isn’t just a workshop. It’s an experience. You’ll arrive, exhale, and feel every detail melt into place—from your transfers and meals to daily classes and unforgettable excursions.

A Glimpse Into the Itinerary

Here’s just a taste of what you’ll experience on this soul-nourishing creative retreat:

  • Day 1: Arrive in Florence and be whisked away to a historic Tuscan estate. Settle in with a welcome wine tasting and a chef-prepared dinner under the stars.

  • Day 2: Dive into watercolor basics and expressive botanicals with Nicki. You’ll work in a beautiful custom sketchbook to build confidence and explore techniques that blend structure and freedom.

  • Day 3: Day trip to San Gimignano—a medieval town full of stone towers, vibrant street life, and the best gelato in the world. Paint on the go, or collect inspiration to bring back to the studio.

  • Day 4–6: From floral studies to Tuscan landscapes, you’ll continue developing your skills in a relaxed, supportive environment. Expect casual critiques, one-on-one guidance, and plenty of time to experiment.

  • Day 5 includes: a visit to the charming towns of Castellina, Radda, and Panzano—ideal for on-location sketching and color palette exploration.

  • Day 7: Wrap up with a mini exhibition and farewell dinner, surrounded by new friends and a portfolio of meaningful work.

  • Day 8: Depart with a full heart, new inspiration, and the momentum to keep painting long after you’re home.

The Heart Behind the Retreat

Nicki Traikos isn’t just teaching techniques—she’s holding space for growth, reflection, and reconnection. As one past retreat guest put it:

"This was a very restorative and wonderful experience. Nicki Traikos is a wonderful instructor and I came away with lots of ideas and techniques to apply at home."

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned watercolor artist, this retreat welcomes you as you are—and helps you become who you want to be creatively.

A Passport to Creativity

Whether you’re perched in a vineyard, wandering a hilltop town, or sipping espresso in a sunlit courtyard. Painting while traveling offers a new lens on the world—slowing you down, helping you see more, and offering meaningful creative moments you’ll never forget.

Each day ends with a beautiful, slow dinner and a glass of local wine shared among creative, inspiring women—because we all know the magic that happens around the table.
